No, and it cannot. ThisBit never captures anything. It puts opaque black windows around your selection, so the visible area is the real screen showing through a gap. That is why there is no Screen Recording permission dialog, and why there are no pixels of your screen for the app to hold on to.
Yes. It is live, not a screenshot. Scroll the spreadsheet, click the link, keep typing. Only the black around it is ThisBit.
It goes black too, along with the menu bar and the Dock. Hiding everything else means everything.
Press Escape, or press the shortcut again. Clicking on the black does nothing at all, so there is no way to reveal your screen by fumbling the mouse.
Not in this version. Press Escape and drag a new one — it takes about two seconds. If you find yourself wanting it often, write in and say so.
Any Mac on macOS 13 Ventura or later, Apple Silicon or Intel. The download is a universal build.
